Brad G. Prybis, M.D., FAAOS
Dr. Prybis graduated from Georgia Tech in 1992 with a degree in mechanical engineering. He was a member of the Georgia Tech tennis team, where he served as captain his senior year and earned an ACC championship in singles and doubles.
After working as a mechanical engineer for two years, he earned a Medical Doctorate at the Medical College of Georgia. He went on to complete a residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of South Carolina, followed by a one-year fellowship in Spine Surgery at the renowned Scoliosis and Spine Center in Baltimore, Maryland.
Dr. Prybis specializes in treating patients with problems involving the spine, such as neck and back pain, scoliosis, herniated disks, degeneration, injuries, and tumors.
Dr. Prybis believes the best way to treat spinal problems is with a team approach that allows for complete care of the spine. This includes non-operative care such as education, physical therapy, medications, bracing and nerve blocks as well as surgical treatment. Dr. Prybis coordinates treatment with nursing specialists, physical therapists, orthotists, pain management specialists, and physiatrists who specialize in the care of the spine.
If surgery is indicated, Dr. Prybis is able to perform many different types of spinal surgery, from minimally invasive and motion preserving surgery to more complex scoliosis and reconstructive spinal surgery. Dr. Prybis trains other surgeons and spinal practitioners in many new surgical techniques, including disk replacement and kyphoplasty.
Dr. Prybis lectures nationally on spine care. Dr. Prybis is married with 2 children.
