Shomari A. Ruffin, M.D., FAAOS
Dr. Ruffin, raised in Decatur, Ga, graduated from The Marist School before pursuing medicine. He graduated from University of Georgia with a double major in Biology and Psychology and obtained his medical degree from Medical College of Georgia. Upon deciding on orthopaedics, he completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at University of Florida College of Medicine in Jacksonville. In 2014, he finished his fellowship in Sports Medicine at American Sports Medicine Institute founded by renowned surgeons Dr. Lawrence Lemak and Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham, Al.
Dr. Ruffin is qualified in all the latest advancements in not only Sports Medicine, but orthopaedics in general. His philosophy is to take the time necessary to understand the patient’s injury and lifestyle as an important factor in treatment of an injury.
Dr. Ruffin is married to Camelia, who is from Newnan, Ga. They have three children and reside in Douglasville.
